Stretchable strain sensor and its application

The sensor is a long-range (mm and cm order) strain sensor. It is made from elastic material and conductive elements. Its advantages light-weight, thin, and low-modulus characteristics. We have made some prototypes which measure human motions.

Food texture sensor and characterization

The sensor has two sensing elements. One is a magnetoresistive element and the other is an inductor. The sensor obtains time-series force and vibration by the magnetoresistive element and the inductor, respectively. The analysis of the time-series data characterizes food textures such as crispness.

Non-destructive evaluation

The sensor is an electromagnetic acoustic transducer and generates an ultrasonic wave into a structure such as a pipe, an illumination pillar. The analysis of the wave evaluates the health of the structure.
