Akio Tomiyama, Professor
Akio Tomiyama is the head of the Multiphase Fluid Dynamincs Lab. His expertise covers experiments, numerical simulation and modelling of dynamics of bubbles, drops, particles and waves, bubbly flows in chemical reactors, and thermalhydraulics in nuclear power plants.

Kosuke Hayashi, Associate Prof.
His research interests are the bubble/drop dynamics, development and application of numerical methods in multiphase flow, two-phase pressure drop in curved pipes, surfactant effects on bubbles in microchannels, LB hemodynamics of cerebral aneurysms etc.

Ryo Kurimoto, Assistant Prof.
His research interests are gas-liquid/liquid-liquid Taylor flow in micro/mini channels, numerical prediction of two-phase flow in curved pipes, interaction between bubbles and membranes, bubble deformation due to electric field etc.
ViR2AL: Virtual International Research Institute of Two-Phase Flow and Heat Transfer
Prof. Tomiyama is the vice-chair of ViR2AL and Profs. Hosokawa and Hayashi are participating staffs. The mission of VIR2AL is to improve and foster international collaboration between world class two-phase flow and heat transfer laboratories around the world.
