・研究関心
地域の生態系の中で、人々が環境とどのように関わりながら暮らしているのかを、人類生態学の視点から研究しています。主なフィールドは、パプアニューギニアやソロモン諸島などです。
現地での観察、インタビュー、質問紙調査に加え、環境試料や生体試料の測定、数理モデル、統計解析を組み合わせ、人々の生活・健康・人口・環境の相互関係を明らかにすることを目指しています。
人類生態学、人口学、国際保健学、公衆衛生学、疫学、社会調査、統計学など、複数の分野を横断する共同研究を進めています。
