Imaging in scattered media

High-resolution imaging in human tissue

Human tissue acts as a strong scattering medium to visible and infrared light. Therefore, the imaging inside a human tissue is a challenging issue in optical sensing. By using visible or infrared light, absorption information can be obtained. This leads to the measurement of function of human tissues. We have been developing a high-resolution 3D imaging system for strong and complexed scattered medium by using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and optical diffusion tomography (ODT).
